WHAT'S YOUR STORY?

"I would say the biggest part of my story is that I moved from my hometown of Detroit, MI in my early 20’s to learn more about myself and my ethnicity, which lead me to San Antonio. I literally packed up a U-Haul and drove clear across the country to a place where I didn’t know anyone! I met a few amazing friends and my first and only true love, that was over 15 years ago.Life changes caused me to move back home only 2 years later, but it never felt right. I became a mother raised my daughter but I knew that we belonged somewhere else. San Antonio being my second home, it was the only place that I wanted to be. Then 2 years ago, my daughter and I made that same 1,200-mile drive from Michigan to San Antonio where we have made our life. But, the best part is that I found the love I lost many years ago and he is my soon-to-be-husband! I finally feel like my life is complete!"

WHAT'S YOUR PURPOSE?

"When I moved back to San Antonio in 2015, I started my lifestyle blog called MexiMoments which is all about sharing the moments in life from recipes, fashion, family, inspiration and culture! It’s been a huge learning experience for myself and taught me so much about following your path with passion. I have an interview segment called Empowering Women, where I share stories of many amazing women from all backgrounds and walks of life! This is the journey that I’m definitely meant to on and excited to continue in sharing empowering stories!"

WHAT'S THE BIGGEST HARDSHIP YOU'VE FACED?

"The biggest hardship is being a single mother. Life isn’t planned out perfectly for everyone. I spent many years working 2 jobs in order to give her a good/stable life. But this experience has also molded me into a strong minded woman that will be able to take on any obstacles that my cross my path."

WHAT'S YOUR CONSTANT MOTIVATION & WHERE DOES IT ROOT FROM?

"My constant motivation is no doubt my family! My daughter and husband-to-be are everything to me and they make my life so much better! I love the role of a wife and mother, it’s really the two most important jobs that I’ll ever have! Taking care of my family reminds me of my grandmother, who was born in Le Feria, Texas. She was the caretaker of many, her own children, nieces, nephews, grandchildren, friends and neighbors. Her motherly ways are definitely the root of our family!"

WHAT'S SOMETHING THAT SOMEONE WOULDN'T KNOW ABOUT YOU?

"I love all types of music! I’ve seen over 85 artists live in concert from all various genres of music: R&B, Hip Hop, Pop, Rock, Spanish Rock and Tejano. After all I grew up in Mo-Town and I currently live in the Tejano music capitol of the world! I love my music!"

FAVORITE INSTAGRAM ACCOUNT?

"One of my favorite Instagram accounts is @WeAllGrowLatina. It’s a constant reminder and motivation of what I want to strive to be as a woman, mom, wife and Latina! Their motto is when one grows, we all grow!”

IF YOU COULD MEET ANYONE DEAD OR ALIVE WHO WOULD IT BE?

"I really love anything and everything about Frida Kahlo. I’d love to have a conversation with her! She’s the ultimate empowering woman to me!"
