CITY: I was born and raised in Dallas, Texas

ETHNICITY/RACE: Mexicana y con tanto orgullo

EDUCATION: "I graduated from the University of North Texas with a degree in Speech/Language Pathology & Audiology with a Spanish minor thrown in there."

FAVORITE QUOTE: "Growing up my mother would ALWAYS tell me a quote by Benito Juarez,

“El respeto al derecho ajeno es la paz.”

Of course, as a child I would roll my eyes so hard when she would say it to suddenly feel the chanclazo when my gaze was elsewhere and not on her. Reciting that quote today, I feel like it can be applied to what it going on in life and in the world around us."

WHAT'S YOUR STORY?

"I am a vinyl-spinning, Selena-blaring, coffee-addicted Latina. I am the daughter of immigrant parents. Like most, the reason they migrated to the US was to give me the opportunity  to create my story. I only find it fair that I share a little bit about them...

My father is from a rural area in San Luis Potosí, MX., where they had no running water, no electricity and had to take care for cattle and grow their own crop to eat. My mother is from a tiny town near Monterrey, MX., where she helped my abuelos tend over their small convenient store.

They are the purpose of my entire existence, my everything, and the reason who I am striving to be is due to them."

WHAT'S YOUR PURPOSE?

"Ever since I can remember, I felt that the reason I was placed on this planet was to help others. I believe I am always attempting to chase that feeling with the big or small things that trouble others who need help. I’ve got a good shoulder to cry on and have two good listening ears to anyone ever needs it."

WHAT'S THE BIGGEST HARDSHIP YOU'VE FACED?

"Alright, let's get personal here. I would say the biggest hardship I have faced in my lifetime was being in a relationship where there was no respect. Being with someone who had that machista mentality damaged me mentally and physically. Deciding to leave my two year marriage was a painful and difficult decision. It has taken a lot of healing, soul-searching and I have now managed to learn my self-worth. I know this might be something pretty personal. However, if I have the opportunity to share this with the possibility of helping someone, a message I have for any individual who needs it is that you are not alone."

WHAT'S YOUR CONSTANT MOTIVATION & WHERE DOES IT ROOT FROM?

"My constant motivation is the event that I went through six years ago. I always ask myself if I am better than I was at that point in life and then hustle to reach that goal I want.  If I could overcome that dark time in my life, I can overcome anything. Especially with all the love and support I have had from my family and friends."

WHAT'S SOMETHING THAT SOMEONE WOULDN'T KNOW ABOUT YOU?

"This one was a "toughy" so I had to ask a dear friend of mine. Apparently, he stated I have a love for coffee, music and I am known to be friendly due to my willingness to help others. Everything I want to be known for so that sounds good to me."

 FAVORITE INSTAGRAM ACCOUNT?

"Oh boy. Let’s see! My favorite IG account out of the many I love dearly belongs to my friend Jennifer (@solais2)

I find it difficult to meet people because well... where the hell DO you meet people now-a-days? I have shied away from ever meeting people through social media because I find myself intimidated by the number of followers they have and at times afraid of what they will think of me since people can only compare you to the content you have online.

However,  Jennifer slid into my DM’s (lol) and reached out for a coffee date. Ever since then, I have had the chance to meet some amazing and inspiring people through her. So, I guess that’s why she is my favorite!"

(Si Jennifer, todavía te debo un café porque ganaron las Chivas...)

IF YOU COULD MEET ANYONE DEAD OR ALIVE WHO WOULD IT BE?

"I would love to have coffee with Mario Moreno (Cantinflas) and Maria Elena Velasco (La India Maria) but they would HAVE to be in character... least for bit. Jaja."
